It was an interesting day for Dragons supporters in Melbourne to say the least. For the second time in our 7 year history we had to relocate the event in the last minute due to no reception at the chosen venue but with the help of our friends at "League of Our Own" the Swan Hotel was ready for a large contingent of Dragons supporters and it ended up being another great event despite the controverial loss. MBDS apologises for any inconvenience caused to members and we will work to avoid this happening again.
As for the game, where do you begin. Firstly a huge rap for the Dragons who lost by 1 point against the Eels and the adjudicators. Since I can't be fined for bringing the game into disrepute, I'll be frank. It was the worst display of refereeing I have ever seen and it's time the NRL looked at fining and suspending referees just like they do to players and coaches.
The Dragons put up one hell of a fight and they nearly defeated the Eels that have proven thay have no hope in this years premiership campaign if they can't pull off a convincing win when the adjuticators do everything they can to help them win.
As much as it was painful to watch at times, MBDS had one of their more memorable functions for the year with many members staying back later than usual.
